(More customer reviews)"Overhaul & Maintenance" provides good, in-depth coverage of all aviation maintenance issues, and is particularly strong in reporting new developments and trends in the MRO world. The focus is on large aircraft (airliner) maintenance issues, although general aviation and military stories are also thoroughly covered.
The magazine caters to maintenance management and technical professionals, but is also very applicable to people in aviation safety departments. The focus is on high quality operators, and emphasizes quality, reliability, and safety above all. While there are articles on specific technical issues every month (such as coverage of the giant CFM56 engine market and pending regulatory changes, for instance), I think the greater strength of the magazine is in tracking maintenance trends in such areas as managing quality during outsourcing, and the resurgence of turboprop airliners (due to high fuel costs) with their related, unique maintenance issues.
Every issue has brief reports about current topics from around the world, and features an interview with a significant industry insider. Think of this publication as "Aviation Week" specifically for aircraft maintainers and managers (which is logical, as it is published by McGraw-Hill as an "Aviation Week" publication.)
While "Overhaul & Maintenance" has superior content, it tends to be heavy on advertisements, which detracts slightly from the magazine as a whole; nonetheless for any professional interested in aircraft maintenance, this is a must-read publication.
