Bono is doing a great job bringing Africa into the spotlight. This is one of his latest attempts to draw more attention to the neediest continent on the planet. All in all it was a well done issue. As for this particular cover, I got it mainly in hopes of getting his autograph someday :)

Vanity Fair July 2007 Africa Issue, Brad Pitt / Desmond Tutu Cover Review

Vanity Fair July 2007 Africa Issue, Brad Pitt / Desmond Tutu Cover
Average Reviews:

I have spent years of my life reading and watching news about Africa, and it never matched what I experienced being on site. This issue of Vanity Fair portrays it ALL: the Good, the Bad, The Ugly, the Amazing and the Truth. For a fashion addict that I am, I never bought an issue of Vanity Fair and that day in the Hudson News store, the "Africa" logo caught my attention. When I opened the magazine, this is what got me to buy it, I read the following lines: "The media often treat Africa's 53 countries as a vast hopeless mass. `That hurts' writes one of Kenya literary stars who has a deeply individual tale of his country stunning political change and the emergence of the "Equity Generation"".
A fundamental statement is made in that sentence: it's not Africa, it's about 53 Africans countries, with different cultures, different stories, different lives, different histories...
This issue depicts Africa in its True Light and opens doors to:
-the world to appreciate, to explore, to connect, to respect, to help Africa
-Africans to embrace their homeland and fight for it
Every article is worth reading and gives hope to true journalism. I will buy more of this issue I started to do, to offer to my loves ones. I should thank Vanity Fair, the editor and guest editor.

Fur Fish & Game - for Schools & Libraries Review

Fur Fish and Game - for Schools and Libraries
Average Reviews:

Most people think that this magazine limits itself to the wild fur trapping industry but they are wrong. Although a good portion of the stories and departments focus on trapping, the excellent fishing, hunting and shooting articles should NOT be overlooked. I find this magazine to be much more appropriate for the average American and Canadian outdoors person. Several do-it-yourself features and inexpensive alternatives give this magazine a realistic touch. Most other magazines seem to cater to whoever advertises on their pages but FFG seems to care about the readers success. If I had to choose only one outdoor sporting magazine this would be it!

Conservative Chronicle Review

Conservative Chronicle

If you're the type of person who does not have regular internet access, and cannot go to Townhall.com or the Jewish World Review, the "Conservative Chronicle" is the perfect journal to subscribe to as it includes column after column by all of the rightward cognoscenti on a weekly basis. You'll get a wide range of opinions on most of the important political events of our day, and, as an added bonus, the cartoons that they print are first rate. Additionally, I had a couple of issues "eaten" by the mail and they were pretty nice about sending me replacement copies.
