The publication first gained widespread attention in the 1990s when Professor Campbell Harvey of Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, along with two co-authors, found that ICRG provides information that has great predictive value with respect to future equity returns globally. Since then well-known finance textbooks (Bodie, Kane, Marcus, Investments, 6th edition (New York: McGraw-Hill Irwin, 2005) have called the ICRG and its parent company, The PRS Group, a "a leading organization" in the highly competitive field of country risk assessment. Research and Markets referred to the ICRG as "the perfect analytical tool for anyone assessing risk in foreign markets or making international investment decisions." Various IMF research papers have used ICRG's data, and the publication has been featured in Barron's magazine. With an international clientele, the PRS Group/ICRG has 250 senior advisers and country analysts stationed around the world, and has been featured recently on CNBC.
