(More customer reviews)This magazine has been around since 1924! I have been reading it since 1965 in the post-Vatican II era. The writing tends to be witty, intelligent, and balanced. I haven't always agreed with the stand of the editors, especially on the first War in Iraq, but they give me food for thought. I think without Commonweal, I would no longer be a Catholic. They have done a great job of covering the sexual abuse scandal. Don't miss the letters to the editor...it's like a conversation between friends and foes. Also the movie reviews by Richard Alleva are top-notched as are the theater reviews by Celia Wren. Happy 80th birthday! And, I hope they are around long after I am gone.
