The original line of 77 comic books, published from 1953 to 1971 in tandem with Albert Kanter's successful Classics Illustrated series, introduced millions of young readers to the realms of fairy tale, folk tale, legend, and myth. Now the Juniors are available again to engage the imaginations of a new generation with such titles as "The Golden Bird," "Cinderella," "The Steadfast Tin Soldier," "Paul Bunyan," and "The Wizard of Oz." The familiar covers and interiors by Dik Browne, Peter Costanza, Mike Sekowsky, L.B. Cole, and others have been enhanced in crisply digitized, vibrantly recolored editions. All of the fillers are there to be enjoyed again, from "Aesop's Fables" and poems by Robert Louis Stevenson to "The Animal World" and the "Color This Picture With Crayons" page. Fifty years later, Classics Illustrated Junior is as fresh and delightful as ever -- a treasure trove for the entire family.
