Challenge Publications' WARBIRDS INTERNATIONAL is a bi-monthly mag sure to trip the trigger of warbird enthusiasts. Published bi-monthly, it presents a pleasing mix of well-illustrated articles on different warbird topics past and present.
WARBIRD INTERNATIONAL's editor is Michael O'Leary who contributes most of the articles found in the mag. The May/June 2010 issue, for example, has four articles. Three have his byline. He co-authored the fourth; makes you wonder when the guy sleeps! The main article is a fairly detailed history of NAF Litchfield Park, one of the most famous postwar aircraft boneyards. The other articles cover the radically modified "Race 90" P-63 racer, WestPac Restorations (who have brought so many basket-case warbirds back to life) and a 10-page photo tribute to the F4U.
Single copies go for $7.99 so go the subscription route. WARBIRDS INTERNATIONAL is an appealing choice for anyone interested in warbirds. Recommended.

An even better Warbirds magazine is Australia's CLASSIC WINGS. A bi-monthly, it offers great articles and super pix. Five stars for this one, folks! Amazon doesn't offer subscriptions but there are available elsewhere.
