(More customer reviews)First thought when received: very impressed with the glossy cover and general feel and layout of the magazine. Thick paper, not that ridiculous newspaper stock others use, and crisp, sharp photos. Cover photo of premiere issue was mindblowing! Content: also very impressed. Sharks, abalone diving, new products, where to dive, hot products, etc etc....really a breath of fresh air for the California diving community. I've dived up and down the entire west coast for over three decades, certified in San Rafael, CA, lived 15 years in Redondo Beach, hit all the spots near Catalina, Monterey, SF, Tahoe, even the near Oregon border headlands, and dive California at least six times yearly when I visit my parents and inlaws. I subscribe to all the national mags. Frankly have always felt that the existing publications were sadly lacking in both look and content for California. California Diver is clearly in touch with scuba diving today in California, and it brings a much needed lift to the enthusiast base! I am extremely impressive and I look forward to new issues--highly recommended and I also like that it is independent, not just another big corporation's rag put out by suits without a real love for the sport of scuba. Keep it up California Diver! wOOt!
