(More customer reviews)My old jelly roll pan came to the end of its life, and I had purchased a supermarket Good Cook non-stick cookie sheet as a temporary cheap fix until I could justify getting the Vollrath recommended by Cook's Illustrated. Long story short, my cheap fix turned out to be SO cheap that it became much more temporary than I had intended: my Vollrath arrived yesterday, and all I can say is WOW. It is four times thicker than the cheap cookie sheet, two inches longer (which makes a big difference), and perfectly flat. The smooth, one-piece construction promises easy cleaning, and the simplicity of the design looks so basically professional that I'm proud to have one in my kitchen. This is a sturdy, solid piece of equipment. I plan to order one or two more in time for the holidays - baking gingerbread house pieces will be a snap!
One note - there is a quarter-inch hole at one end, presumably for hanging on a hook. You can just barely see it in the picture. I missed it and was surprised when my order arrived.
Update 7/2/09: I've owned two of these beauties for quite some time now, and they are still going strong. One of the sheets has some minor finish blemishes, but it doesn't seem to affect performance.
If I could fit more than two sheets into my oven, I'd get more. Based on two years of regular use, I expect they will last a lifetime, which makes them a great buy at this price.
