(More customer reviews)This is a beautiful desk organizer and was just what I was looking for. The price was right too. Unfortunately it has some problems. The unit has a slide-forward-and-drop-down front cover. When the unit arrived, both of the two pivot hinge pins were broken off of the cover door, and the wood where they attached to the door was mangled. There was also some stain discoloration on the top.
The seller sent me a new one at no charge (great seller) but it arrived with the same damage, only worse. The seller said damage might have happened on route to me, but I could find only one of the two pivot pins in the second shipment. The second pin was neither in the box nor in the packaging material. I can only conclude it must have broken off before the unit was boxed by the manufacturer. Furthermore, the unit was very well packaged and there seemed to be no damage to the outside carton. The seller did refund my money and did not require me to ship either unit back. Again, great seller!
Regardless of what caused the damage, there is another general flaw with the unit in that the drawer just slides and rubs on the bottom of the unit, which mars the paint on the lower lip. This could probably be fixed by using drawer wax.
Bottom line: if you see it in a brick-and-mortar store and it does not appear damaged it's well worth the price. I would rate it 4 stars if were not damaged (not 5 because of the drawer issue). I suggest not buying this item without first inspecting it in person, and then carrying it home yourself.
